ALEXANDRIA, Va. (AP) — A 41-year-old man who officials say was fatally shot in Northern Virginia had recently escaped from a California halfway house.
Police say Colby McClennon of San Diego, California was killed Wednesday in Alexandria.
The Washington Post reports (http://wapo.st/2h1WgPs ) that police say the man had been incarcerated in San Diego. Police say McClennon escaped Nov. 17 from a halfway house in nearby San Pedro.
Police couldn’t say why McClennon had been incarcerated.
McClennon had previously lived in Alexandria and was convicted in 1993 of cocaine distribution there. He was also sentenced to a year in prison in New Jersey for a 2004 robbery conviction.
Police do not know who killed McClennon.
