Man Charged as Police Investigate a DC Woman's Death

WASHINGTON — A Southeast D.C. man was arrested Saturday and is being charged with first-degree murder, Metropolitan police say.

Police responded to a report of a shooting in the 2200 block of Savannah Terrace at approximately 8:20 a.m.

The victim was Shameka Delephine Jones, a 32-year-old also of Southeast D.C. Jones was found with a gunshot wound and pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said in a statement that Ronald Randolph Jr. is being charged with first degree murder while armed.
