EWING TOWNSHIP, N.J. (AP) — Authorities say a husband and wife from Washington, D.C., have been arrested and charged with killing the woman’s stepfather in New Jersey.
Prosecutors in New Jersey say that Lewis Norwood and Daphne Conklin Norwood were arrested last week in Alabama. They are charged with killing 58-year-old William Blackwell outside of his home in Ewing Township, New Jersey, on Oct. 23.
The couple was arrested in Enterprise, Alabama, and were awaiting extradition back to New Jersey.
Lewis Norwood was being held on $1 million bail and Conklin Norwood on $750,000. It wasn’t immediately clear if either had an attorney to comment on their behalf.
Mercer County prosecutors didn’t release a motive or additional details on the investigation.
