WASHINGTON — A dump truck overturned on the Capital Beltway Wednesday morning, causing major traffic delays and spilling diesel fuel and debris across all lanes of the Inner Loop in Prince George’s County.
A dump truck with a full load overturned on the Inner Loop in the area of Arena Drive in Landover, Maryland. The crash has blocked most lanes of the Inner Loop in the area. Lanes are moving on the Outer Loop in the area, but drivers may experience some delays because of the distraction, said WTOP Traffic Center’s Reada Kessler.
Diesel fuel from the truck’s fuel tanks and debris spilled onto the roadway, tweeted Prince George’s County Fire & EMS spokesman Mark Brady.
Emergency crews are transporting the driver of the truck to an area hospital, Brady tweeted.
Authorities have not release any additional details about what led to the crash.
