FREDERICK, Md. (AP) — A dog that fled the scene of a four-vehicle crash on Interstate 270 has been reunited with its family.
The Frederick News Post reports (http://bit.ly/2p36pj0) that some concerned Franklin residents reported sightings of Squeaker, a medium-sized brown dog, almost immediately after the crash Tuesday on the northbound lanes of the interstate.
Karin Roland, an acquaintance of the dog’s owners, says Squeaker didn’t stray too far from the scene, but avoided people until his owners arrived Thursday.
Maryland State Police Sgt. Paul Schur says the crash involved four vehicles, including a dump truck that spilled gravel onto northbound lanes. The crash remains under investigation.
Schur says Squeaker’s owners were traveling with two other dogs. One dog died in the crash, and the other was taken in by Frederick County Animal Control.
