DC Police: 2 Men Fatally Shot in Different Parts of City

WASHINGTON (AP) — District of Columbia police are investigating a pair of fatal shootings in different parts of the city.

Police say a 30-year-old man was fatally shot early Saturday morning in southeast Washington. He’s been identified as Antoine McCullough. He was shot several times and died at a hospital.

Around 5:20 a.m. Saturday, police say they got a call about gunshots on 50th Street, Northeast, near the Kelly Miller Recreation Center. When officers arrived, they found a man dead from a gunshot wound. Police have identified the man as John Williams III of northeast Washington.

Police have not released any information about suspects or a possible motive in either slaying.

There have been 65 homicides in the District so far in 2016, compared with 68 at this point last year.
