WASHINGTON — Two Spotsylvania County, Virginia, men have been indicted for the murder of 21-year-old Heather Ciccone, who was found dead in her car, parked in a stranger’s driveway in December 2015.
Ciccone had left her home that evening, after receiving a phone call about a friend’s car breaking down.
Two hours later, she was found dead in her 2010 Kia, that was parked at the end of a driveway on Piney Branch Road in Spotsylvania County. She had been shot in the back of the head.
Joshua Christopher Williams, 29, and Jonathan Julian Vejerano, 28, have been indicted on charges of first-degree murder, conspiracy to commit first-degree murder, and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony. Vejerano also was charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
The Spotsylvania County Sheriff’s Office said both men were already in custody for previous crimes.
Online court records show Williams had pleaded guilty to malicious wounding in 2006. He has been convicted for several drug charges.
He was due to stand trial Friday for felony assault and battery of a family member.
Vejarano had been convicted of receiving stolen property in 2010. He was due to stand trial for a probation violation next week.
It is not clear when both defendants will be in Spotsylvania County Circuit Court for arraignment.
