Ex-CIA Spy Valerie Plame: I “Immediately” Accepted Role in Doomsday Doc

Outted CIA undercover operative Valerie Plame said she didn't blink when she was asked to play a role in the doomsday documentary "Countdown to Zero."

"I accepted immediately," she told Niteside, "and have been delighted to focus the expertise that I gathered during my time as a CIA covert operations officer on a subject that I care passionately about and is very meaningful to me."

The film, which opens in Washington, D.C., today, makes the case for nuclear disarmament

Plame, who is currently working part-time at non-profit scientific research institute Sante Fe Institute, said she has reconstructed her life years after her identity as an undercover was leaked and is planning to write a novel about a CIA officer out this Winter.

"We have rebuilt our personal and professional lives outside over Washington, D.C.," she said.

Produced by Lawrence Bender for Magnolia Pictures, the force behind the docudrama is writer and director Lucy Walker.  Among featured insights from international experts is Valerie Plame Wilson.
