Chicago-based parking app SpotHero has officially launched in D.C.
The app, which helps drivers find and price parking spaces, garages and lots, as well as reserve spaces, had an unofficial introduction last year but has officially launched in the District as of March.
Elise Fox, a company representative, says developers were hard at work contacting more parking companies.
The most fun things to do and places to be in D.C., Maryland and Virginia
"Our goal is really to make life easier for the daily driver," Fox says. "We're kind of like the Uber of parking."
Input your destination into the app and it will serve up real-time prices and estimates of how long it takes to walk from the potential parking space to your end point. After you've found a parking space that works for you, you simply tap (or click) a button and reserve your space.
SpotHero is currently available in Baltimore, Boston, Chicago, Newark, NYC and Milwaukee, as well as D.C.
The app is available on both Android and iOS platforms, as well as online at spothero.com.
