Halloween Haunt at Kings Dominion

Kings Dominion's Halloween Haunt promises terror with more than 400 monsters lurking around every corner. Test your nerves in the haunted mazes and scare zones. Feel your heart soar on roller coasters such as the Drop Tower, which dives 27 stories at 72 miles per hour. Note that many attractions are are considered too intense for kids; parental discretion is advised. Ticket prices start at $39.99.

You won't want to miss the haunted manor that takes over three floors of Leesburg's Carlheim mansion, including a basement full of creepy clowns and carnival carnage. For an extra $10, get the chance to race against the clock to see if you can break free of the escape room. This is a full-body experience, so expect to crawl and squeeze through tight spaces in low light. All proceeds from Shocktober benefit a nonprofit helping people of all ages who live with disabilities. General admission tickets cost $40.
