Fly Fishing Meets Wine Fest in Virginia

They say wine goes well with fish... but you may have to get the latter yourself.

The 12th annual Virginia Fly Fishing and Wine Festival, on the banks of Virginia's South River, is a weekend filled with free lectures, tips on the best fly-fishing spots, and beginner classes on how-to fly fish.

The fest runs Saturday and Sunday, April 21-22, less than two hours from downtown D.C. Learn how to catch a striper on the Chesapeake Bay or a trout in Shenandoah National Park, or even how to rig your kayak for fly fishing. Enjoy wine tastings, listen to live music and buy that fly-fishing gear from vendors on-site.

Need a fishing license? You can get one there -- we love efficiency! Admission is $20 for a single day, or $35 for weekend pass. Lodging specials are available at select hotels and B&B's.
