Poll: Md. Governor has 63% Job Approval Rating

A new poll says 63 percent of Maryland residents approve of the way Gov. Larry Hogan is handling his job, up from 58 percent in October.

The poll by Goucher College, released Tuesday, found 17 percent disapprove of the Republican governor's work in the heavily Democratic state and 21 percent responded that they didn't know.

Half of the respondents view Hogan favorably. Another 19 percent view him unfavorably and 29 percent said they didn't know.

The poll also found that 44 percent approve of the job the state legislature is doing, 31 percent disapprove and 23 percent didn't know.

The survey conducted last week has a 4.2 percentage-point margin of error. It polled 545 residents.
