Whether you’re heading out to the National Memorial Day Parade or heading out to celebrate the holiday elsewhere in D.C. Monday, beware of road closures around the parade.

Constitution Avenue is closed from Seventh Street NW to 23rd Street NW and Seventh Street is closed from Constitution Avenue NW to Independence Avenue SW until 6 p.m.

Drivers could experience delays in the area.

The parade from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. includes military units and marching bands and honors veterans from American wars and features a tribute to Sept. 11 victims, a salute to the Navy, Marine Corps and Coast Guard and Miss America 2011 Teresa Scanlan.

Nearby Metro stations include Smithsonian and Federal Triangle on the Blue/Orange Lines and Archives/Navy Memorial on the Green/Yellow Lines.
