A pit bull that disappeared eight years ago will be home in Virginia for the holidays.
Somehow, Petunia wound up 2,700 miles away from home in California. A woman walking her own dogs found Petunia in a wildlife area near Yuba City and took her to an animal shelter.
A microchip pointed the shelter to Chancellor Veterinarian Clinic in Fredericksburg, which identified Petunia’s owner.
Petunia was 3 when she disappeared.
The vet said the dog is perfectly healthy.
