New Report Predicts Later Strasburg Debut

If MLB.com reporter Bill Ladson is right, Washington Nationals fans that ran out and bought Reds-Nats tickets based on rumors of a June 4 first start for savior Stephen Strasburg may be out of luck.

According to a team source, the Nationals are planning to bring up the best pitcher in the organization for the next series -- June 8-10 at Nats Park against the Pittsburgh Pirates, a team that hits about as well as some of Strasburg's opponents in Triple A.

The team will make an announcement a few days before Strasburg's first start, Ladson reported. Until then, the team will probably welcome other sourced rumors to sell tickets for other games.

The Nats could probably set a season attendance record by merely stringing us along the rest of the season.

Strasburg's stats combined between Double A Harrisburg and Triple A Syracuse are 6-1, 0.99 ERA and 54 strikeouts in 45 1/3 innings.
