Maryland Gubernatorial Candidates Discuss Education

Maryland candidates for governor are telling the state's teachers some of their plans for improving education.

Democrats Doug Gansler, Heather Mizeur and Anthony Brown addressed the Maryland State Education Association convention on Friday, along with Republican David Craig.

Craig said he would reinforce Maryland's commitment to local school boards.

Craig and Gansler said they would push to make teachers' retirement income tax-free.

Brown and Mizeur want to expand prekindergarten, but they have different time frames for doing so.

The MSEA is scheduled to vote on an endorsement in the governor's race on Saturday.
