Woman Found Stabbed to Death in Hallway of Northwest DC Apartment Building

The victim once lived in a West African embassy on Massachusetts Avenue, an embassy official said

A 23-year-old woman was stabbed to death Sunday inside an apartment building near the U Street corridor, police say. 

Waliyatou Amadou died after she was found in a building on the 1400 block of W Street NW, D.C. police said. She lived less than a half-mile away, on Clifton Street NW. 

Amadou was found unconscious with multiple stab wounds in the hallway of the building just after 8 p.m., a police report said. 

She was taken to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

No arrests have been made. 

Amadou's death is the third homicide in the District this year. 

Amadou's father once worked as a driver for the Embassy of Togo, the West African country from which her family hails. An embassy official said the family once lived at the embassy, which is located along Massachusetts Avenue's Embassy Row.
