Woman Held in Dead Infant Investigation

Charged with concealment of a dead body

Prince William County police are holding an Oxon Hill woman in the investigation of a deceased infant found this September.

Lisa Maria Steele, 27, has been charged with concealment of a dead body.

On September 24, police responded to the 9300 block of Boley Place in Nokesville for the report of trespassing.  After an investigation, a deceased infant was found buried in a shallow grave on the property adjacent to the roadway.

Police located Steele driving nearby in the area and took her into custody.

Investigators said that Steele had given birth to the infant in September 19 in Oxon Hill.  A medical examiner has yet to determine the cause of death.

Steele turned herself in to police on November 21 without incident.  Her first court appearance is scheduled for December 8.
