Police have charged a Haymarket woman with filing a false police report after she claimed that two men broke into her house, assaulted, and robbed her Monday morning.

51-year-old Azra Seyedeh Kalantarian of 6054 Popes Creek Place told police that two men knocked at her front door shortly before 10 a.m. Monday. When she answered, the men supposedly forced their way into the home, assaulted her, then took the necklace she was wearing before fleeing the premesis.

After an investigation, police determined that Kalantarian had fabricated the story and that the claimed assault and robbery actually stemmed from a domestic incident.

Kalantarian was released on personal recognizance. A hearing is scheduled for January 31.
