District police hope to heat up a cold case by releasing surveillance video from a 2010 murder in the Brookland neighborhood.

The surveillance video shows two men in hooded sweatshirts entering the Newton Foodmart on 12th Street Dec. 18, 2010.

The men robbed the store and shot and killed store owner Raj Patel in front of his wife and son.

Police said they hope the video will jog some memories and lead to some tips.

Anyone with information about this case is asked to call the police at (202) 727-9099. Additionally, anonymous information may be submitted to the department’s TEXT TIP LINE by text messaging 50411.
