Va. Man Sentenced for Fatal Bar Fight Over Redskins, Cowboys

A Virginia man has been sentenced to 14 years in prison after pleading guilty in connection with a deadly bar fight that began as a spat over an NFL game between the Dallas Cowboys and Washington Redskins.

Multiple media outlets report a judge sentenced 38-year-old Ronnie Cisko on Monday to 10 years in prison for voluntary manslaughter and four additional years for violating the terms of his probation on a prior offense.

Cisko pleaded guilty in September in the death of 46-year-old Charles Setchel. Prosecutors said Cisko punched Setchel in the neck in December 2014 at a Chesapeake restaurant, killing Setchel.

One of Cisko's attorneys, Robin Winn, said Cisko didn't intend to kill Setchel, calling the death a "rare, freakish accident.''

Authorities said Setchel died of "vertebral artery dissection'' from blunt-force trauma.
