TSA Stops Passenger for Concealed Razor Blades

The TSA found two razor blades concealed in a man’s shoes at the Baltimore-Washington Thurgood Marshall International Airport checkpoint Tuesday.

The TSA officer manning the X-ray machine at the checkpoint spotted what seemed to be two pieces of box cutter-type blades in a passenger’s carry-on bag. TSA officers removed the items from the bag and determined the blades were concealed inside a pair of well-worn running shoes.

The Maryland Transportation Authority arrived to question the passenger after they were notified by the TSA.

After investigation, the police determined that the blades appeared to have been manufactured into the sole of the shoe for the right foot.

The blades were removed from the shoes and the passenger was permitted to catch his flight.
