A contractor's pickup truck went up in flames Tuesday morning at Greentree Road near Burdette Road in Bethesda.

Montgomery County Fire was called to the scene of a flaming pickup truck on Tuesday morning, as students were being dropped off at nearby Woods Academy.

The fire happened on Greentree Road near Burdette Road in Bethesda.  A contractor's truck, laden with ladders, buckets, and other work equipment, went up in flames after 7 a.m.

Fire crews quickly put out the blaze.  The driver was able to escape safely, and no other injuries were reported.  No word yet on the cause of the fire.

The intersection of Fernwood Road and Longwood Drive was closed to traffic for the response.
