While he was sleeping, a 4-year-old child got kidnapped on Sunday afternoon.

The tot was in the back seat of a 2006 Honda Pilot that was stolen from the 7500 block of Murillo Street in Franconia.

The child's mother told police she left the vehicle while she briefly popped into a house on the street there.

When she came back outside, she told police she watched her Honda driving away down the street,  child inside.

Franconia police said that minutes after receiving the report, officers located the vehicle nearby, abandoned at the intersection of Backlick Road and Leesville Boulevard.  The child was found inside, unharmed.

Police say the suspect in what is being called a car theft and a kdinapping is a white male wearing a hooded sweatshirt.  They invite anyone with information on the crime to call 1-866-411-TIPS.
