TSA to Train Officers on Recognizing D.C. IDs

The District of Columbia's delegate to Congress says Transportation Security Administration workers will be trained on how to recognize District driver's licenses and identification cards.

Del. Eleanor Holmes Norton says the training will help the TSA resolve the recurring problem of officers not recognizing the validity of District licenses at airports.

Norton, a Democrat, met with a TSA official last week. She says the agency will make sure that all three current District licenses are part of officers' shift briefings. Officers will also host a new four-our training session that includes work on identification of licenses, including the District's.

The Washington Post reported earlier this year that a District teacher was questioned about the validity of her license while boarding a plane in Phoenix. Many similar stories later surfaced.
