A dog stabbed during a domestic dispute last month is one step closer to recovery.
Coco, a 2-year-old Shih Tzu, was stabbed seven times inside her home by a relative of her owner.
Sutures were removed Wednesday morning and Coco was taken for a walk.
The man accused of stabbing Coco had a history of violent outbreaks, according to the Washington Humane Society. He is undergoing a mental evaluation.
The Humane Society is working with the U.S. Attorney’s Office to determine if charges will be brought.
