Prince George's Officer Involved in Crash on Beltway

A Prince George's Police officer was involved in a three-car crash on the Capital Beltway during Friday afternoon's rush hour.

The officer was taken to the hospital to evaluate minor injuries. Two people in another car also were transported with minor injuries.

Police said the officer's K-9 is unhurt. 

The preliminary investigation reveals that the police officer was rear-ended when he was slowing down for traffic.

The three-car accident happened on the Inner Loop of the Beltway near Exit 22 at the Baltimore-Washington Parkway. Traffic on the Beltway was heavy and delayed.
