Police are investigating a shooting that left one person dead and another injured in Northwest D.C. early Monday morning.
Officers were called to the area of 8th Street and Jefferson Street at about 2:43 a.m. for a report of a shooting. When officers arrived, they foun two adults suffering from gunshot wounds.
One victim died at the scene; the second was transported to an area hospital. There's no word on the second victim's condition at this time.
Police say the suspect fled the scene in a gray 2003 Monte Carlo with Maryland tags "2AY2516."
