Police Replace Stolen Girl Scout Cookie Cash

A bit of sweet community justice for Bowie police.

A local Girl Scout troop saw the sweet side of justice Friday after the Bowie Police Department helped replace their stolen cookie jar of cash.

On October 28, someone stole a cash box from outside a Wal-Mart where Troop 2310 was selling cookies.

Since then, police had been collecting donations from the community to help the group out, with some contributions coming in from as far away as Pennsylvania.

Friday, police presented the girls with more than $800 and treated them to pizza and a tour of the station. A teen was arrested for the theft on November 9.
