Fatal Shooting at Illegal Gambling Operation in Laurel

A man was shot and killed Tuesday night at home set up as an illegal gambling operation in Laurel, Md. News4's Megan McGrath reports.

Police are looking for the person or people responsible for a murder at a home in Laurel, Md.

Officers got a call about a shooting in the 11600 block of South Laurel Drive off Baltimore-Washington Parkway and Route 197 about 11:45 p.m. Tuesday.

When officers got to the scene, they found a man dead inside an apartment. They said he’d been shot to death.

Police believe the location was targeted. It was set up as an illegal gambling operation.

Detectives spent much of the overnight hours at the apartment complex trying to figure out what happened. Police also interviewed neighbors to see if they possibly heard or saw something that could help detectives learn what led to the violence.
