Montgomery County police are investigating a fatal shooting in an Aspen Hill neighborhood.

Officers responded to the 3700 block of Bel Pre Road, where 28-year-old Edwin Alexander Campos Hernandez was jumped by two men early Sunday morning after returning home from a party in a taxi, police said.

Hernandez was shot at least twice, police said. He died at the hospital a short time later.

Investigators believe the men were trying to rob Hernandez, but there is no indication they got any money.

Montgomery County police are offering a cash reward up to $10,000 in exchange for information leading to the arrest of these suspects.

If you have any information, call Montgomery County Police at (240) 773-5070 or Crime Solvers at 866-411-TIPS (8477).
