Police: Gunpoint Robberies Target Latino Construction Workers

Police are searching for two persons of interest in a series of gunpoint robberies of Latino construction workers in the Trinidad neighborhood of northeast Washington, D.C.

They have released video from a security camera that showed two men running from a Sept. 26 robbery scene in the 1800 block of H Street, Northeast. Investigators said the men could be involved in as many as four robberies in recent weeks.

In August, Mauricio Fuentes, who had been working on homes in the Trinidad, was shot and killed during a suspected robbery on Oates Street, Northeast. One suspect, a 14-year-old, was arrested, and police are looking for another person.

Workers in the area said they are taking precautions.
