Police: Alcohol Factors into Double Fatal Crash

Maryland State Police said alcohol was a contributing factor in a double fatal accident in Prince George’s County early Saturday morning.

Troopers discovered a Camero off the roadway in the wood line near the Route 295/Route 50 split.

Investigators determined the driver was attempting to take the exit from northbound Route 295 onto eastbound Route 50 and lost control of the vehicle, and hit several trees.

Two passengers inside the vehicle were declared dead at the scene. The driver was taken to the Prince George’s Hospital for treatment.

Police have not released any identities of the victims in the accident.
