Storm-related outages may have plagued Pepco in July, but in the second quarter the power company was raising its bottom dollar.
According to the Business Journal, Pepco had several reasons for its revenue increase, including warmer weather, higher distribution rates in certain jurisdictions, and lower operation and maintenance expenses.
At the peak of Thursday’s storms in the D.C. area, Pepco reported more than 75,000 people without power.
Another severe weather system on July 26 left more than 300,000 people without power in the peak of the storm. Many of those customers went several days without service.
