Overnight Carjacking in Silver Spring

Happened outside Burger King

For the fourth time in the span of one week, police in Montgomery County are investigating a carjacking.

The incident happened at 1 a.m. Tuesday morning, at a Burger King on Veirs Mill Road in Silver Spring.

Two men stopped at the fast food restaurant to see if it was open.  That's when police say two suspects, on armed, approached the victims and took possession of their vehicle.

No injuries have been reported.

Detectives do not believe this carjacking is related to three other carjacking-abductions that took place less than two miles away in the past week.  On Monday, law enforcement released surveillance video of those incidents.
