Northern Virginia Shakes, But No Quake

Many people reported feeling their houses shake Thursday afternoon in Northern Virginia. So what was it?

There were no earthquakes recorded in Virginia today, but what people probably felt was explosives training at Quantico.

That training has happened several days this month, however the overcast conditions today likely made the noise and vibrations stronger.

As for those who thought it might have been an earthquake, the last recorded quake in Virginia was very early in the morning on Christmas Eve. It was a 2.0 quake centered near Mineral, Va.
