Prince George's School Finally Reopening

School will make up for lost time.

Students at Glenarden Woods Elementary School in Prince George's County, md., had the past four days off after Hurricane Irene knocked out power to the school and surrounding neighborhood.

But time has run out for students. Crews from the Baltimore Gas and Electric Company have been working since the storm hit to fully restore power at the school. They finished the job Thursday morning.

Prince George's County school officials said school will start on time Friday morning.

They have a plan to make up for the missed classroom time. Officials said they will add extra time to the school day until all the hours are accounted for. They have not said when the longer days will begin.
