Police: Son Stabbed Father to Death in Leesburg

A 28-year-old man was arrested and charged Monday after he walked into a police station and said he stabbed his father, police said.

Hector Anthony Flores, Jr., an active member of the military, walked into the Leesburg police headquarters about 9 p.m. Sunday and said he stabbed his father in their home, police said.

The elder Flores tried to go to a neighbor for help. However, he collapsed against a post and fell to the ground.

"When I opened the door, I see him on the ground," the neighbor told News4.

Police went to the home on the 1000 block of Wythe Court in Leesburg, where they said Hector Anthony Flores, Sr., 47, was found suffering from a stab wound.

Flores Sr. died at the scene, police said.

The younger Flores is charged with murder, police said.

Police said an argument broke out between the father and son. That argument led to the stabbing, police said.

"They used to get along very good," the victim's sister, Amanda Flores, said. "I just have the feeling that alcohol has a lot to do with this tragedy."

Flores Jr. is being held at a Loudoun County detention center without bond.
