A man was arrested at 1 a.m. for a suspicious death in Merrifield, Va., Fairfax police said.
The victim has been identified as Oscar Rivera, 38, an occupant of the 9100 Barrick Street apartments.
Rivera’s body was discovered yesterday in the bathroom with apparent stab wounds.
Police have been investigating the situation and charged Jose Ivan Lopez Castro, 20, with murder.
Castro resided in the same apartment building as Rivera. Police say that the suspect and victim knew each other, and an altercation likely took place before the murder.
Castro was transported to Fairfax County Adult Detention Center. The investigation is continuing.
