Man Arrested for Killing Father in Georgetown: Police Sources

A man has been arrested for allegedly stabbing his father to death at a home in Georgetown, police sources tell News4.

D.C. police said the stabbing occurred Wednesday on the 1600 block of 33rd Street NW, near Volta Park. 

Harrison Spencer, 71, was killed, D.C. police said in an update Thursday morning. 

Peter Spencer, 32, was arrested and charged with first-degree murder while armed. 

Police received a call about 6:30 p.m. about an aggravated assault. Officers entered the home and found a man who had been stabbed. He was pronounced dead at the scene. 

Police cars surrounded the home about 7 p.m. Wednesday and taped off 33rd Street from Q to R streets. Several homicide detectives were also at the scene.

Police sources said the suspect is the son of the homeowner and lived at home with his parents.
