The Loudoun County Sheriff's Office says it made one of the biggest drug busts in county history.
Deputies seized more than 2.5 pounds of powdered cocaine, a 1-kilo brick of cocaine, 5 ounces of crack cocaine, 1.5 ounces of heroin, 6 pounds of marijuana, 5 ounces of PCP, 429 ecstasy pills, prescription pills and $60,000 in cash, the sheriff said Wednesday.
The seizure occurred Tuesday at a Sterling hotel.
Two men were arrested and charged with drug offenses. Luis M. Garcia, 37, of New London, Connecticut, and 39-year-old Ronald Delaespada of Brooklyn, New York, are being held without bond.
Garcia jumped from a third-floor hotel room to an awning to elude police but was apprehended with the help of a police dog.
The street value of the drugs is about $250,000, and detectives believe the drugs were headed for the streets of Northern Virginia.
Authorities said the seizure was the result of a 3-month investigation.
