Laurel police are trying to figure out who started a fire at a popular local playground.

The fire broke out shortly before 4 p.m. Sunday at the Discovery Community Park at 1030 Harrison Drive.

Investigators estimate the damage to be around $100,000. Nothing from the playground can be salvaged.

Police are offering up to a $2,000 to anyone with information about the fire.

City officials say they plan to rebuild the playground.
