Head-On Crash on Bay Bridge Delays Traffic

Authorities say a head-on crash on the Bay Bridge has led to major delays.

The Maryland Transportation Authority reported shortly after noon Saturday that there were 5-mile backups in both directions. Drivers are being advised to avoid the bridge.

The crash occurred shortly before 11 a.m. on the westbound span, which was open for two-way traffic. At least two people were injured, and one was flown to a hospital.

WTOP reported all lanes were open around 1:30 p.m.
