Prince William County Police said a federal agent they arrested earlier this week has now been charged with assault of a medic and cop.

Police said they responded to the 12600 block of Tides View Court near Manassas, Va., shortly after midnight on Monday to assist rescue workers who were dealing with a disorderly subject.

Rescue workers had previously responded to the scene after someone had been injured from a fall, said police.

According to police, Julie Kathleen Laabs, 41, from Alexandria, Va., had attempted to choke one of the medics.  Police said Laabs is a federal law enforcement agent.

Laabs then kicked an officer in the chin while officers were attempting to restrain her, said police.

Laabs has been charged with assault and battery on a firefighter and law enforcement officer, and with resisting arrest.
