D.C. Official Hit While Bicycling To Work

A car driver struck the D.C. Office of Planning Director while she was riding her bike to work.

Harriet Tregoning said she was crossing 7th Street near the Convention Center, when a driver ran a red light and sideswiped her Tuesday morning.

Tregoning has been a champion of making D.C. a more walkable and bikable city for residents.

Although her bike was damaged, Tregoning escaped serious injury.
