Fairfax County police are warning homeowners in a normally quiet  neighborhood about a rash of burglaries.

Police are investigating five burglaries in the Franconia area in the past ten days.

Police say the burglaries are happening during the day, and in the same way.

Thieves simply smash windows, steal items like jewelry, laptops or small electronics, then run off.

Fairfax Police warn residents to be vigilant, and if they see a suspicious vehicle, to take note of the license plate.
