Flares, Not Dynamite, in Virginia House

Authorities have determined that what a realtor thought might be dynamite were flares.

A realtor found the suspected dynamite in a home in the 1800 block of Peabody Drive in Falls Church, Va., at about 2:30 p.m. Wednesday and apparently took it outside.

A bomb squad took in a robot to get close and determined it wasn't dangerous.

During the investigation, nearby houses were evacuated and Peabody Drive was closed in the area.

For a time, police did not let children leave a school a block and a half away, but they have since been released.
