Police officers and supporters from Virginia are joining comrades in other states for a benefit bicycle ride this weekend.
Each rider along the Police Unity Tour is raising money and awareness for the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial.
The starting points on the tour include Portsmouth, Richmond, Philadelphia and four cities in New Jersey. The Portsmouth and Richmond riders will head out early Saturday.
In all, about 1,800 riders will meet up in Washington, D.C., Monday.
