Man Accused in 2 Assaults at Md. Apartment Building

Police have arrested a 20-year-old District Heights man in connection with two sexual assaults that happened the same apartment building.

Bernard King Jr. was arrested Wednesday after Prince George's County police identified him as a suspect in a May 31 sexual assault. The victim told police she was walking into an apartment building in the 2100 block of Brooks Drive when King allegedly grabbed her and began to pull down her clothes. King fled the scene after the victim fought him off, police said.

King has also been named a suspect in a July 2012 sexual assault that occurred in the laundry room of the same building. Investigators say that victim was also able to fight her attacker.

King was charged with attempted first degree rape, robbery and first degree assault.
