A barn burned to the ground at Woodmont Country Club in Rockville Thursday night.
Firefighters arrived around 11 p.m. to find heavy fire pouring from a large, two-story maintenance barn. The fire quickly went to two alarms, with more than 75 firefighters on the scene at 1201 Rockville Pike.
They were able to contain the fire, but decided due to roof collapse and environmental issues that they should let fire burn out in a controlled burn, the Montgomery Fire and Rescue Service said in a release.
No one was injured.
Fire investigators will delay their investigation due to the unsafe condition of the barn, authorities said.
Officials said the total dollar loss is expected to be significant.
